Wynkyn de Worde's Richard Coeur de Lyon

Wynkyn de Worde's Richard Coeur de Lyon

Anon.

1509

London, England

Printed Book

Wynkyn de Worde’s 1509 print of Richard Coeur de Lyon is an inexpensive book by comparison with a deluxe manuscript; nevertheless the impression is that a good deal of care went into its preparation for the press, both through changes to the text and its visual layout. On the title page is a decorative woodcut illustration and ornamented border, while the other page shown here includes a woodcut illustration with an ornamental border and decorative initial block.
